"You are basically your own slave, taking care of everything. The industry is still in its infancy, few people care about designers. Working with a team of 15, Wang custom-makes everything from shirts to evening dresses and wedding gowns. He begins with sketches after consulting with the client. It usually takes longer than a month for Wang to complete one of his creations, from the consultation to fittings and eventually delivering the order. I'd say I'm more like a tailor with a designer's soul." His business built up slowly, as celebrity clients started hearing his name. "It really depends on word of mouth.
